Maintenance/Tooling/Set-Up Technician

This position is a 70% mechanical/30% electrical hands-on maintenance, tooling, and set-up aptitude position. This position supports maintenance, tooling and our set-up departments and will require a short travel between locations on occasion.

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure that preventative maintenance tasks are performed correctly and according to schedule
Inspect and repair hydraulic molding presses
Set up molds
Runs first piece samples
Take molds apart, repair and exchange inserts
Monitor equipment performance, adjust and repair as needed for constant improvement
Inspect and maintain steam generator (basic PM’s)
Inspect and maintain water tower system
Inspect and maintain air compressors (basic PM’s)
Inspect and maintain pre-formers
Complete monthly safety checklists
Maintain stock and neatness of oil areas
Inspect and maintain forklifts
Record all repairs on machinery
Maintain an inventory of tools and supplies needed for completing maintenance and repair tasks as needed for completing maintenance and repair tasks as needed for constant improvement
Ensure that broken or malfunctioning equipment is diagnosed and repaired as quickly as possible in order to prevent lost productivity
Coordinate installation of new equipment and equipment modifications
Have critical parts in stock to prevent equipment shutdowns and order necessary supplies for day-to-day operations
Basic hydraulic and electrical knowledge

Qualifications (To be considered for this opportunity, you must possess most of the following):

Mechanically inclined
Experience in troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical issues or the ability to learn
Experience in troubleshooting molding machines or the ability to learn
Excellent mechanical skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to operate a forklift or obtain certification
Consistent and reliable attendance to maintain adequate staffing levels and meet customer commitments as required

Physical Qualifications

Must be able to stand/bend/walk and carry items weighing 50+ lbs. regularly
Ability to work from elevated heights when using ladder and power lifts
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50+ lbs. regularly
